In Trimester three we were in charge of making our own magazine. The focus of the unit wasn’t the content but the magazine layouts.

the magazine I decided to create was called Do It Digital, a magazine which focused on digital painting tutorials and showcases of beautiful digital paintings. But to be different from other digital painting magazines I made the genre dark and creepy. Other magazines were mainly fantasy so I wanted to set myself apart from the others.

This assignment was my first opportunity to really work with InDesign. Of course editing any images for the magazine was completed in Photoshop and by using the Adobe Suite any changes made in one program were carried over to the next. By creating this magazine I learnt the importance of consistent magazine layout as well as preparing my files for print. Part of this assignment was to get the magazines printed. I chose to print and bind the magazine myself. I still stand by the work I did but if I was to redo this assignment I would have got my magazine printed externally.
