Branding

Throughout my time at SAE I have had a few opportunities to do some branding. I have done logos and business cards for the brands I have created for assignments. For each design I tried to keep it with the genre of the brand which was either minimal or quirky.

One logo was for a social issue campaign called Mind Maze. The aim of Mind Maze was to bring awareness about sleep paralysis. Because sleep paralysis can cause mental health issues and it is a problem caused by the brain while waking up from sleep or just before falling asleep, I thought creating a brain as the brand logo was the correct path to take. The brain was to look round and by pairing it with blue I though I could give a comforting look which is a trait most mental health brands share.

The next brand was for Air Cactus. Although the logo was not chosen due to a change in corporate identity I still put hours into the concept and design of the logo and the business card that went with it. The brand at the time was quirky and I felt the round style and pastel greens of the logo brought up that quirky feel. However that logo was changed because the design of the advertisements didn't feel quirky and it was easier to change the branding look than the whole style.

The last brand is for my current project Irredenta: Under Grotto Hollow. The company the team is calling themselves is DreadHawke and I was in charge of the branding for it. I thought minimal and striking was a good look for a video game company. So I kept the logo black and white. I also decided to keep it simple by using a hawk as the design.
